Managing Directors

Andrew Clark has more than 25 years experience in health care, technology, and energy-related fields. His corporate experience extends from roles at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Compaq Computer, and Reliant Energy. Currently, he provides investments in and consulting to start-ups and early stage companies through the Houston Angel Network, where he is past president, and The Castell Group, where he is a principal. He has assisted numerous HTC clients and has been instrumental in the formation and raising of capital for early stage companies.

Kyra Doolan has been actively involved in HAN since 2014 and has participated in multiple deals with her father, Patrick Doolan and their investment company Old Peak Road, LLC. After graduating from the University of Richmond with a degree in International Studies and Chinese, Kyra spent two years in Southwest China teaching university students. She left China to pursue her MBA at Claremont Graduate University, focusing on Marketing and Global Management. Her career has always been with startups, focusing on growing companies through community initiatives, social media marketing, and business development. She has worked with everything from skincare companies, to luxury clothing retailers and fitness studios.

Kevin King is a seasoned, successful corporate and community leader, investor and attorney with 30+ years experience in multiple business segments, designing growth strategies, implementing process improvements and positioning companies for sale or liquidity events. His background includes leadership positions with ten different companies and encompasses startups, acquisitions, turnarounds and high growth environments resulting in successful dispositions to publicly traded companies, private equity firms and other investors. Kevin began his career at Fulbright and Jaworski (now Norton Rose Fulbright).  He holds an undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University in Finance and JD from the University of Houston.

Christy Luquire is an active Angel investor and member of the Houston Angel Network. Prior to moving back to Houston, Christy co-founded Lucid (www.luc.id), a venture-backed software company based in New Orleans, and served for five years as its CFO, managing all aspects of their finance and human resource functions during their massive growth. While in New Orleans, Christy served on the board of the New Orleans Angel Network (www.nolaangelnetwork.org) and became an active angel investor and mentor to early-stage companies in the area.
Prior to Lucid, Christy was a VP within Wells Fargo’s investment bank, focused on foreign exchange and interest rate derivative sales. It was there where she initially became interested in start-ups – and how to finance their growth – through multiple entrepreneurial roles she held within the large company.
Christy has a BS in Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from Wharton School of Business.

David Steakley has been an active investor in early stage companies since 2007.  A co-founder of Texas HALO Fund, David serves on the Board of Directors of a number of his portfolio companies including HeatGen, Pervino, Inc., and myLab Box.  He is a past Chairman of the Houston Angel Network, recognized by the Angel Resource Institute as one of the most active angel networks in the nation.  Previously, David was a Partner at Accenture, serving clients in the financial services industry, for almost 20 years.  David studied Mathematics and American Studies at Williams College.

Rob Tucci oversees THF’s Life Science funding efforts across North America. He is active in the growing Gulf Coast Life Science eco-system and former Chair, Life Science at the Houston Angel Network. He regularly judges business competitions and has been a guest speaker at various colleges and universities, including the University of Houston, Rice University, Tulane University, Ursinus College, and the University of St Thomas. Rob has been a guest speaker at past RESI conferences (CA), Johnson and Johnson’s JLabs, the New Orleans BioInnovation Center, Founder’s Institute and MedCity Invest conferences. He is also an entrepreneur, founder and owner of Yardley Group, LLC, an active chemical development and export business serving metallic ore mining in the South American Andes. Rob serves on the Board of Directors of Adient Medical, Inc, and as a Board Observer with Materna Medical (CA) and previously Quad technologies (MA). Rob holds a chemistry degree from Ursinus College (PA) and an MBA from Tulane University (LA).

Bill Wheelock  received his BS in Engineering from the United States Coast Guard Academy and a MBA in Finance from the University of Rochester. He is a former ExxonMobil executive with nearly 30 years of experience in strategic planning, organizational development, process and quality management, IT and business systems, financial management, human resources, and operations. For a year, he was Controller for Turner, Collie, and Braden Inc. in Houston. After retirement from ExxonMobil, he worked for a small, successful software company start-up, Systems Automation Technology (SAT) Corporation.   Subsequently, he and his wife, Judy, co-founded and ran the World Affairs Council of the Palm Beaches for ten years hosting 135 speakers on international affairs. He has been a member of the Houston Angel Network for seven years. He was an advisor/mentor in SURGE Accelerator I and II.
